The client had designed a fully automated factory which included up to 7 cookers. The project was worth >$50m and was exposed to significant running cost risks in relation to waste. There were several design alternatives and the client wanted to know which one delivered the best performance and running cost outcome.
Bullant prepared a 3D dynamic model showing the behaviour of the proposed factory under different running scenarios. The model showed which design offered the best solution in terms of OEE. It also showed which design minimised exposure to waste due to materials exceeding shelf life limits before being loaded into cookers.
The model was also able to confirm labour requirements and asset requirements for transfer equipment.
The client was able to proceed with the project knowing that the design was capable of delivering the business outcome in terms of performance and running costs.
